These paired extremely well with the spicy concoctions. Both the curry dishes came with White Rice, and instead of the Bread Basket, each of us opted for the Appams. For the Main Course, four of us ordered tthree dishes to share – Whole Fried Kingfish, Chettinad Meen Kulambu with Kingfish, and the Kori Gassi Manglorian Chicken. This was the first Indian place that we have been to, that had this item on their menu. ![]() The Balls are very small, but the plate is sufficient for two people since you will be eating a substantial meal after that anyway. Nine of them came in a plate, and were served with Sambhar and two spicy chutneys. For appetizers, we ordered the Kuli Paniyaram – small steamed balls of rice and lentils with onions and chillies mixed in. Our pleasant waiter was very patient and explained a lot of the dishes to us. We are not new to Indian food in the US, but many items were novel, so we took a little time to order. It had a sufficient amount of zing in the delicious overload of spices. We ordered “medium”, and that was perfect. When you order, the servers ask you what level of ‘spicy’ you would like, and then tailor the foods to your desires. This leads to the fact that most of the foods cooked here represent the six tastes – spicy, sour, salty, sweet, bitter and pungent. We learned that “Arusuvai” means “six tastes” in Tamil – a South Indian language. The cuisine in this Restaurant is from many different regions of India, and the choices are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.
